Please forgive me but I am unsure of the answer. I believe the fabric is ususlly made with combed ringspun cotton(but unsure). The finished outer garment has a WOVEN finish (like a cotton shirt) and the inner garment is a uncombed and fleece like.
In the UK and Europe this garment is classified as a Sweatshirt. I am sure you or your colleagues must be familiar with this garment type. I am not a cloth fabric technican so I cannot offer a full answer. You will find it on Fruit of the Loom website under outerwear.
There is not much more I can add.
