6. Item description and technical specifications 

6.1 Protective boots must conform to EN 345-2:1996 requirements. 
6.2 Protective boots must conform to protection level S5 requirements (EN 345-1:1992). 
6.3 Material of boot uppers ? flame and heat resistant rubber 
6.4 steel reinforcements in boot soles and toes 
6.5 soles made of heat and petroleum product resistant and non-skid, material 
6.6 The outside or inside of the boots must be marked according FPA 
according to EN 345-2:1996, para. 7.2 requirements. 
6.7 The boots must have a slit in the upper (shin) part, or external loops for quick and easy donning. 
6.8 The boots must be provided with additional ankle & shin protection to protect from leg injury. 
6.8.1 Specific ankle protection area, not less than 4 cm wide, 3 cm high & 3 mm thick. 
6.8.2. Specific heel protection, height, not less than 10 cm from sole, thickness, not less than 5 mm. 
6.8.3. Protective zone parameters, not less than 17 cm from sole, minimal added thickness 3 mm. 
6.8.4 Increased thickness must cover at 15mm width around the entire perimeter of the sole. 
6.9 The boots must have reflective tapes (EN 471, 2. class) with a combined area (per boot) of not less than 25 sq. cm. 
6.10 Protective boots must meet the requirements of C or D type models (EBN 345-1:1992). 
6.11 Required sizes ? from 38 to 48 inclusive.

9.3.3 A sample protective boot, which the prospective buyer is authorized to damage or destroy during testing. 
9.3.4 Care and maintenance requirements and projected wear out period.
